Juan Mata awarded National Sports Prize 2017 for "Common Goal" Initiative

The Spanish Kings handed the Spanish footballer the accolade in the El Pardo Palace, one of the thirteen prizes on behalf of the Spanish Sports Council

Their Royal Majesties, King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofía handed the 2017 National Sports Awards at the El Pardo Palace.

These thirteen accolades are awarded on behalf of the Spanish Sports Council and are chosen by a jury of institutions and media. 

Juan Mata: "This award is a boost for this initiative, it was a necessary movement from the world of football."

Spanish footballer Juan Mata, World and European Champion with the National side, received the award by Queen Sofia for his fair play and nobility for his "Common Goal" initiative. The football player encourages other athletes to donate one per cent of their salary to a good cause.
