Dani Ceballos scored a hat-trick as Spain delivered a statement of intent

The Spaniards demonstrated the fine form they are in as they served up another exhibition of their immense bite in attack.

Spain boss Albert Celades made just one change to the side that faced Iceland last Thursday. Unai Núñez was replaced by Meré in defence.

Slovakia pressed with intent on the pitch, making life difficult for Spain. Jirka was the first to test the Spain goalkeeper after 15 minutes, but Unai Simón pulled off an incredible save with his feet.

An own goal from Fabián Ruiz put the visitors ahead. However, the response was emphatic from Spain as Dani Ceballos found the back of the net in the 37th minute.

Spain controlled the rest of the first half, and after the break, both sides made several changes to their line-ups. Shortly after half-time, Íñigo Córdoba scored to give his side the lead.

The hosts, having now completed the hardest part, extended their lead two minutes later with the same players to the fore. Dani Ceballos sealed his second of the night and in the 60th claimed the fourth.

But there was still time for another masterpiece before the end and in-form Borja Mayoral made it 5-1.

A goal fest for an on-fire Spain.
