Munir El Haddadi (2), Asensio, Borja Mayoral and Dani Ceballos hit the target for Spain

The Spanish side pulled off a remarkable second-half comeback to beat Georgia 5-2. From the outset Celades' men looked confident, quick and prepared to play a high-pressing game against a tough opponent. Indeed, the deadlock was broken within 2 minutes of the first half by Munir El Haddadi. Deulofeu rolled the ball into the Madrid-born player who slotted home.

However, Spain's joy did not last long. Two minutes later, Tsintsadze scored a direct free-kick for Georgia. From then on, both sides fashioned dangerous chances and opportunities came and went but the first period ended in a 1-1 tie.

Following the teams' return from the dressing rooms, Lobzhanidze sent the ball into the back of the net after a powerful shot. It took Spain almost one hour to get themselves in the night. In the 62nd Marco Asensio came to the visitors' rescue with a superb header and made it 2-2.  Borja Mayoral made his first appearance for Celades' side and scored the third target thanks to a measured assist by Saúl Ñíguez.

Munir El Haddadi was one of the stars of the game when he netted a brace to help his squad to a resounding 2-4 victory over Georgia. Nevertheless, it was Dani Ceballos who seal the thrashing from the edge of the area. The next Euro 2017 qualifier will take place in Santa Cruz de Tenerife against Sweden. The game is scheduled for October 13th.
