Estadio Rico Pérez 22 Ene 2019
The Spanish Women's National Team led by Jorge Vilda lost against USA at the José Rico Pérez Stadium, after a goal by Press

The Spanish National Team got to the Rico Pérez Stadium aware they were going to live an unforgettable night. The players ran on the pitch and with a clear idea: controlling possession and moving the ball from one side to the other, working their way to the opponent's goal.

During the first moments USA was patient and tried closing Spain in their area, but Jorge Vilda's side became increasingly comfortable.

The first chance came half way through the first half with a shot by Alexia Putellas, after a good combination, which unfortunately was blocked by Alyssa Naeher.

Once the match resumed the squad led by Jills Ellis came out with three substitutions, one of which was key, in the 52' Press - with a speedy slalom -netted the first.

Spain did not back up and in the 62' Falcón enjoyed a good chance with a shot that nearly equalizes the result. It was only in the final stretches of the game, where the Spanish side tried closing in USA, yet without luck.

USA won 0-1 at the José Rico Pérez Stadium.
