Claudia Pons' side qualified for the EURO finals after cruising to a 6-0 win over Italy on Saturday

Spain went into their final game against Italy knowing that a point would be enough to seal qualification, but taking three points was the main objective.

And they did so in style as goals from Berta, Mayte, Vanessa Sotelo, Peque, Amelia Romero and Ampi helped Spain defeat Italy in Leganés to reach the Euro finals.

Clauda Pons' girls attacked from the off.  Spain found their way into the match and got the opener on 5 minutes. Berta fired Spain ahead against Italy. Mayte doubled the lead and Vanessa Sotelo made it 3-0 on 19 minutes.

Peque netted the fourth with Amelia Romero and Ampi completing the scoring late on.

Italy threatened to reply but couldn’t find a way back, leaving Spain to take up a place in February’s Euro finals.
